This section highlights FT232R, FT245R, FT2232C, FT232BM and FT245BM
based dual in line modules available products from FTDI and its distribution
channels. These products allow customers to quickly evaluate our devices and drivers prior to commencing their own design.
Some modules simply incorporate the FTDI device and
essential support components into a convenient DIP
format, whilst others have an on-board microcontroller as well. These modules are suitable for incorporating directly into low/medium volume product designs as they can plug into standard DIP
sockets.

USB Hi-Speed two-port bridge chip which handles all the USB signalling

The DLP-2232M-G is a low cost integrated module
featuring FTDI's FT2232D 3rd generation Dual USB UART/FIFO. Ideal for
rapid prototyping and development of FT2232D designs, an attractive
quantity discount structure also makes this module suitable for
incorporation into low/medium volume finished product designs.
Despite its low cost, the DLP-2232M-G not only offers
the advanced features of FTDI's 3rd generation device but has a quality
4-layer PCB design with solid power and ground planes and an integral
93C56 EEPROM on board for easy OEM customisation.
Integral power control
and an on-board MOSFET power switch make the DLP-2232M-G ideal for USB
high bus power USB bus designs as well as self powered and low powered
products.

The DLP-2232ML is a low profile version of the
DLP-2232M. As
with the DLP-2232M,
all the external components required for the FT2232C are mounted on the
PCB including a 93C56 EEPROM for easy OEM customisation.

The DLP-2232PB-G is a powerful integrated module
featuring FTDI's FT2232L 3rd generation Dual USB UART/FIFO together with
a PIC 16F877 MPU. Unlike the FT245BM based
DLP-245PB, the DLP-2232PB-G
allows reprogramming of the 16F877 over USB without the need for a
separate flash programmer.
The DLP-2232PB-G is supplied pre-programmed with "Token
I/O" code in the 16F877's ROM for basic port pin input/output capability
(see data sheet for details).
The DLP-2232PB-G plugs into two 25 way SIL
header strips (supplied).

The DLP-2232PB-G is now available in a specially priced bundle with a
CCS C compiler. The compiler
allows the user to modify the DLP-2232PB-G firmware with a limited
version of the same compiler used to develop the original code.
This limited IDE compiler supports the PIC16F876/876A and PIC877/877A
devices. The compiler includes 30-days of download rights for the most
up-to-date version after registration. This bundle represents a rare
opportunity for both seasoned and aspiring microcontroller developers to
hit the ground running with all the tools they’ll need to edit, compile,
and upload custom firmware to the PIC 16F877A microcontroller.
